House party with the team

It all started over a cup of coffee. Me and Shree were having coffee and I mentioned about hosting a house party in my place. I just mentioned about my thought and as always Shree got pumped up with all her energy and pushed me to send the invite immediately. I always think and think and think, but always delay in executing. I had this thought from almost an year but never took that initial step of inviting. It was Friday evening when I sent that invite for Wednesday. I had already decided I would be working from home on Thursday and from friday anyways I would be on vacation. So that would be an ideal get together before my vacation. 

I could not do any arrangements over weekend as I was totally busy with other things. On monday people started accepting my invite and I started to realize the open tasks. There were mainly 3 things in my list; logistics, food and drinks. Logistics was the main thing. Monday afternoon after office I went to Union City in bad traffic to buy a couch, I did not get any, came back to milpitas and went to 4-5 furniture stores to get a couch. I did not like any of the couch in that last moment. I came back home thinking what to do. Then came this innovative idea, I had 2 paong chairs, if I buy one more chair and couple of bean bags it would suffice the furniture part. But where would I get bean bags, when can I go to Ikea to buy a chair. I browsed through Amazon for bean bags and searched if anything gets delivered within 1-2 days. Then found a bean bag chair which would be delivered on wednesday, immediately I ordered 2 of them. Next was the paong chair. It was 8:15 in the night and Ikea would be closed in next 45 min. I got up immediately and went to Ikea, I knew what I wanted and I knew where it is present in the store. I had 15 min to wrap up the things, bought one chair, 2 cushions and 2 small tables. I came back home at around 10 in the night, Now the next task was to fix the chair and table. I was tired, hungry but this task was critical. I fixed the chair and table, then realized the fact that I dont have any food to eat. I prepared Maggi noodles and was totally done for the day. Just before sleeping I checked the amazon order status to find out that the bean bags are getting delivered only on Thursday and not on Wednesday. Two more tasks added to my open task list, one to buy new bean bag chairs in some store another to return amazon product once I get it. The next day I had to buy bean bags and make arrangements for food and drinks. I found out that in Target bean bags are available, but the store was in San Jose, I went to the store and bought them, later went to Bevmo and bought few drinks and glasses. 

On Wednesday, I still had to wrap up few things, I did not have water in home and I had to buy Cranberry juice. I went to walmart in middle of office and bought the final open items.

We all came directly to my place from office. 7 of us were there, we got few food from office potluck. But still we needed fresh food, we ordered Gobi and few other appetizers from a restaurant. The whole party was so much fun and entertaining. I cannot go to the details on what all happened in the party but it was fun and we all enjoyed a lot. 

With all the last minute arrangements I would say, the party was successfully executed. The first house party in the team.
