'Tamasha' movie - My take


Today I watched a movie titled ‘Tamasha’, it is a Hindi movie and of course a love story. It had emotions, it had love, it had comedy, and basically it had everything a movie should have except fucking REALITY.

Let me start with the summary of the story. Two people meet in Corsica, Spain, enjoy each other’s company for 7 days and goes back to their normal life.  The girl realizes that she is in love after coming back to India and she waits for 4 years then somehow finds this guy back. The guy will be leading a mediocre life and girl will be expecting that the guy will be some careless, senseless, crazy, self-talking guy which he was for 7 days in Corsica. They both spend some days together in India and the guy proposes her and the girl rejects saying bla bla bla. The guy goes crazy and realizes he loves her so much that he will turn back to what he was for 7 days, a careless, senseless, crazy, story teller. The guy and girl finally commits to each other and they guy will become a professional storyteller.

Now some basic questions I had, why the hell a girl, an Indian girl spends time with a guy, an Indian guy whom she meets there in some unknown country. First of all an Indian girl hesitates to spend 7 days with a stranger whom she just met, in a country she just landed. Second of all in any foreign land an Indian girl will hesitate to spend time with an Indian guy. Ok somehow let me accept this, next scene struck me perplexed. The girl who spent 7 days with a guy realizes she is in love after they both went back to their normal life and she spends 4 years waiting, hoping that they both will meet again and marry each other. I was so confused looking at this that I got so many questions and my head started to heat up. In reality anybody would require some time obviously more than 7 days just to be comfortable with another person. Nobody can fall in love with a person within 7 days without knowing the real person himself and without knowing the address and name. Even if she falls in love, nobody would wait for that person for 4 long years without knowing anything about the person. Even if she has waited, she would never meet the person in this highly populated small world. Ok fine let me digest all these things next comes the shocker. After these two meet each other, the guy behaves crazy with the girl in all public places, he goes to her house in the night and in front of her house he creates a scene. The girl tolerates these things and still goes behind him. Hmm really? Are you serious? If I find such a kind of girl I would leave everything for her. She keeps patient and she keeps persistent about her love. In reality if the boyfriend doesn’t call her girl for a day or two the girl will start feeling left alone. She starts to lose patience and all crazy things start to run in her mind. Any girl who doesn’t get enough attention from her boyfriend will feel bad and will lose her temper. No girl will be like great Deepika Padukone as portrayed in the movie.

Usually I watch a movie every alternate day or sometimes everyday, I am still questioning myself why am I so pissed about this movie. I totally understand that movies are meant to be for killing our precious time but this movie not only killed my time but increased my blood pressure. I came home drank 2 bottles of water and started watching another movie just to come out from the hangover of this movie.

Hopefully I will forget this movie titled ‘TAMASHA’

Love/Arranged Marriages

Few days back I was discussing about marriages in India and the discussion was mainly on whether to get married to a person whom we find ourselves or to a person whom our parents find. In both the cases we have to compromise on many things and in both the case after compromise also we are not assured that the partner is right for us. In arranged marriage, we will marry a person whom our parents decide. Our parents chooses a person on various criteria like his/her family, his/her current job, his/her current salary, his/her economic condition, his/her horoscope and all non-sense stuff which really doesn’t matter. These things do matter but according to me the only thing a person should look in his partner are his/her thinking patterns. Parents give much more importance to the family, and in this case i am totally against to their thinking. Crazy Movie-Marathon

If someone asks, ‘what is the one thing you have done which you will probably never do?’ I would say this. Yesterday (2/24/2018) I watched 4 movies back to back in theatre. If I think I would be shocked myself. Fuck me what the hell was that, 4 movies I mean seriously??? Yes, I watched it and to add more I watched all 4 movies sitting in 2 nd row from the screen in the same hall, same place. Now Oscar fever is going on everywhere and AMC theatres are playing Oscar nominated movies back to back on 2 consecutive Saturdays. First Saturday 4 movies would be played, and second Saturday 5 remaining movies would be played. We just have to buy a day pass and watch all the movies played on that day. Yesterday they played ‘Phantom Thread’ at 10:30 AM, ‘Lady Bird’ 1:00 PM, ‘Three billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri’ at 3:00 PM and ‘The shape of water’ at 6:00 PM.
