Parthana Maduve

On 11th of November Partha had called me in the evening. I was about to leave to Sky fall movie. Partha invited me for his marriage and we could not talk much as I was already late for the movie. I just knew it was on 10th of December and I did not ask the place of marriage. Anyways place would not have mattered as we would never miss his marriage. I applied for leave for 10th and 11th of December. A week before the marriage I talked with Mithun about the plans, reservation and stuff like that. We decided to talk to all and ask them whether they will join us or not. I called Jeda, Dhruva, and Hari and chatted with Gowri in FB. Hari was supposed to go to Chicago on 17th so he had planned to go to his native, Jeda was busy in his sister’s marriage preparation, Gowri was already in Sweden, and Dhruva agreed to join. On the other side Gunda had called Dileepa, Shymanth, and AC. But all three refused to join and finally it was decided that me, Gunda, Mithun and Dhruva are going. Gunda booked the to and fro tickets for all 4 of us and we were all set to leave Bangalore on 8th night. The bus was at 22:00 and as planned we left Bangalore on 8th night and reached Sringeri on 9th morning at around 7:30 in the morning.

Partha had booked a room for us in a hotel near to the temple. We checked in at hotel and freshened up ourselves and went to visit the temple.

The temple was having very big campus and we were in temple only till 14:30. As Gunda was a big fan of fish we spent lot of time near fishes only. We put the puri to fishes and rusks, the fishes were so close that we were able to touch the fishes also. When I touched one of the fish I was surprised that the fish was so hard like a metal, I was expecting something softer.

Partha had called us 4-5 times for lunch already and we hurried up and went to Jayapura. This was a small village which was around 18km from Sringeri. It took us 45 in bus to reach Jayapura. Partha’s house was very near to the bus stop. We did not even called Partha for the address as we saw a house with shamiyana and chapra. We went near the house and called him to come out. We had our lunch there in his house only and chatted with him till 19:00 in the evening. There Partha told us about his cousin sister who was also of marriage age. We decided to pair her with Dhruva. We came back to Sringeri, had dinner and went back to hotel. The next day was the marriage. We met jimmy and Hemanta there in hotel only the next morning and went to the marriage hall with them only. We had our breakfast there only and sat in the front only may be 3rd or 4th row. While sitting Mithun made acquaintances with couple of aunties and started discussing about procedures of a marriage. Everyone started pulling Dhruva’s legs and we told aunty to let us know if there are any girls eligible for marriage for Dhruva. We had told the aunty to tell us prior to tie knotting so that we can take photograph and videos. That aunty told us 5 min early and we went to the stage and saw the marriage clearly and took photographs.

We wished him all luck, had lunch and came back to Sringeri. We again freshened up and went to temple and came back. The bus was scheduled to leave at 20:30. We checked out the hotel at 18:30 and had our dinner and went to bus stand. The bus left on time and soon after we called Partha and wished him luck for all further shastras then asked about the girl’s marriage with Dhruva. Partha told her marriage is almost fixed. Dhruva was saddened by hearing this. The bus reached majestic in the morning by 6. I had taken leave on that day also. I took complete rest that day.
