Different parts of life

We are living in an age where there is competition for each and everything, be it getting a job or be it getting a seat in city bus. I can say we are leading a very busy life and our life is having many sub lives in it, like professional life, personal life, social life, secret life etc. Professional life is something which earns us bread and butter; this part of life lacks emotions. Personal life is something which will be lead by emotions; it may circle around family and friends. Social life is where we project ourselves in social networks; this part of life is totally manipulative as this is not ourselves in reality but our virtual existence. Another life which many people have is secret life; this will be very much limited to them alone; nobody else will see this part of life except that person. Since we have lot of sub lives we should make sure that they are not tightly coupled with one another especially we should make sure that personal life is totally independent of professional life. I have seen many people who do not understand the difference between personal life and professional life. Most of the people will be discussing about their interests in office like politics, cricket, bikes, cars etc, and many people discuss about work outside office. Why should we discuss about our interests in office? Why should we bother if it is raining outside or not when we are in office? Similarly why should about our project outside office? Of course there will be an exception in all rules. We make friends in office; these people will become a part of our professional life and personal life as well. With these people we can discuss anything anytime. I have never seen a software developer who clearly distinguishes his personal life and professional life. We developers get lots of mails after reaching home; we get calls when we are outside with our friends, basically professional life dominates us. If we do not pick up call then it will become an issue the next day we enter office. If we go to onsite from a service company then our professional life will be active 24*7, onsite guys should attend late night calls and they should be in office early, basically their personal life will be minimal. In some ways off shore guys will have some personal life left in them. Ideally professional life sleeps outside office and personal life sleeps within office. When will we reach a stage where we do not think of office when we are not in office? Oh by the way now the time is 20:45 and I am in home, I got a call from onsite to join the conference call now.
