Ignorance

Yesterday we had been to Golconda fort. It was pretty big and interesting. It was built by 'Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah Wali' (this is the name of single person not names of 5 different people). It was built in such a way that it was almost impossible for enemies to enter the fortress. The outer wall is of circumference 7km and it is having 12 entrances which were once very well safeguarded all the time. One of the main things which attracted us the most is the way they were communicating. Since the fortress is huge it was not easy for a person who is in one end to communicate to a person who is standing at the other end. They had used the principles of wave theory to communicate. There is one place in the entrance which is of dimension around 9sqft wherein any sound made in that particular area will be heard in another particular place which is 480sqft above ground level. The roofs above these places are actually different from the roof we have in all places. They are designed in such a way that the waves of the sound will be magnified and will be propagated. I did not understand how exactly it works but it was very interesting. Also the water supply was very well maintained all over the place. They had used pipes which are made up of black soil. Actually black soil acts as purifier and coolant as well. The guide there was telling that the English people made everything but they couldn’t make pots with black soil (madike in Kannada). It was so true and also that was very well indicating that people nowadays do not know many basic things which people of 15th century mastered. We think that technologically we have very well developed but that is just an illusion we have. People of 14th century or 15th century were using all the technologies which we are using now. Also those technologies were environmental friendly not like today’s technology where in if we open the door of refrigerator it affects the ozone layer.
